How To Use Our Colostrum Powder
It is recommended that you take 1 teaspoon of this powder daily; either dissolved in half a glass of lukewarm water or in fresh juices, shakes etc. You can take 1 extra teaspoon in case of environmental, physical or mental stress. Athletes can also take an additional teaspoon right after their exercise or training to enhance recovery.
If you have any cuts or irritation on your skin you could sprinkle some of this powder on the affected area. If you are suffering from any oral problems like sensitive gums or teeth, you can put some powder along the line of your affected gum or teeth and let it dissolve. Colostrum has dozens of health related natural components, the primary being immune and growth related. Colostrum is made up of various macro and micro constituents such as cytokines, immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, growth factors and hormones, etc. These components have various biological roles that are vital to proper health and immune function.
Natural Components found in bovine colostrum and what biological role they play:
Cytokines: Cytokines are part of our systemic immune system. These hormones keep communication between immune cells active. No communication = No immunity
Growth Factors (IGF-I, IGF-II, EGF): Growth factors assist with maintenance and growth of certain body tissues.
Lactoferrin: Lactoferrin assists with iron absorption and has shown anti-microbial characteristics. It is a part of our defence system.
Growth Hormone: Works individually as well as together with growth factors to help aid in growth and function of gastro-intestinal tissues.

Polyproline-Rich Peptides (PRP): A hormone that regulates the thymus gland, which regulates the production of Tcells. PRP can stimulate a weak immune system and can balance an overactive immune system. An overactive immune system has been shown to be linked to multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma and allergies.
Antibodies: They are very specialized molecules that are produced by the body’s immune system. They are produced in response to the host being exposed to an immunogenic or foreign substance (antigen) such as an infectious microbe. Their action is to ward off and or neutralise potentially disease-causing agents. A very important feature of antibodies is that they are directed specifically to their antigen that induced their formation.
What is Colostrum?
Colostrum is a milk-like substance produced by female mammals during late pregnancy and in the first few days after giving birth. It is the first food that the newborn will receive, and it is a way of transferring important immune and growth factors from mother to newborn. Colostrum contains antibodies that stimulate a newborn infant’s immunity against disease. It contains an abundance of nutrients including essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes, growth and immune factors, biologically active proteins and essential fatty acids. Colostrum is lower in fat and higher in protein than ordinary milk.
Research has shown that the molecular structure of bovine colostrum is identical to human colostrum. The immune and growth factors found in bovine colostrum are beneficial to humans of all ages. In other words, it contains all of the immune and growth factors found in all other sources and thus it can significantly benefit all other mammals, including humans of course.
Because calves are born without any immunity to airborne, disease-causing organisms, their mothers Colostrum must contain a very large amount of immune and health factors. It is certified that this product is manufactured using colostrum sourced from New Zealand dairy cows which contains no preservatives, antioxidants or food additives. It is also free of rBST (synthetic hormones), which is not licensed for use in dairy cows by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority. MIP Colostrum contains no genetically modified organisms, plant or animal products.
Strict quality control procedures are enforced during the manufacturing of MIP Colostrum. Final product is sampled and tested for chemical, sensory and microbial parameters using internationally recognised procedures in an ISO 17025 certified laboratory.
